Driving Anxiety

Writing Challenge: January 26

Prompt:  What scares you a little? What do you feel when scared? How do you react?

My shoulders are tense and my hands are wrapped suffocating around the wheel. I sit almost over hunched over the dash, my jaw locked in concentration. I distrust the other drivers, my sense of direction, and the state of the roads. I scream at the GPS, the stop signs, and the traffic lights. I am unable to get over to the correct lane in time and miss my turn. I nearly cry in frustration at this minor mishap. In this moment I hate everything. I will not relax until I am back in familiar territory.
