Night Sky

Writing Challenge: Feb. 17, 2017

Prompt: Take Inspiration from a night sky

note: This is about the loss of my best friend. It is very similar to a poem I wrote after her passing which will be posted separately.

I feel most peaceful at night when the world is silent and lonely. I stand outside in the cool darkness and stare up at the sky. I speak to the white moon shining in the near blackness, imagining it is you. You loved the night and the moon. You felt the peace of the silent star’s vigilant watch, the moon’s comforting glow, and the dark sky’s tranquility. It is in this time I feel you strongest. I can speak to you and feel you listening.
