Prompt: Write about a game of hide-and-seek, or a place you like to hide things at.
The house was newly built and still empty when he took me to see it. We were a couple of teenagers with the carefree attitude that accompanies that age. We explored every nook and crevice of the new place for hiding places in case we should ever decide to play hide-and-seek. We opened closets and cabinets. We looked under ledges and behind doors. We found several great places before we found our way to the only room with furniture- his new bedroom. We lay on his bed and talked for a solid hour before his sister came looking for us. No one believed us when we said nothing happened beyond conversation, and that didn’t matter. We were never closer or more intimate than we were that afternoon; playing, hiding, and talking. That was 8 years ago, and I credit that day for the relationship we have now.
