Prompt: Write about the loneliness that took you by surprise
You are home now. After spending 5 years apart- you in the Navy and me at University, we were finally back together. You are home now. We are together again, so why do I feel as lonely as before? You are physically nearer, but I still feel as if you are away. Down from 1,000 miles to a mere 100, you still aren’t near enough. My loneliness surprises me. I see you more often than I have in years. I can talk to you whenever I want. I can see you with minimal planning- but still, it is not enough. My loneliness makes me selfish. The closer you are to me, the less I want to share you with anyone.
