Local

Writing Challenge: May 1, 2018

Prompt: write about something good from last week

Last Saturday I took a day to myself to explore my favorite small-town, down-town, Main street. The little local owned shops appeal to me the way no large, multi-national departments stores can. The sun beat down on the floppy hat I bought at a small boutique as I sipped on an iced coffee from a tiny, local coffee shop. Little bells ringed as I pushed open the glass doors to old brick buildings. What am I shopping for and what will I find? An antique brooch, a faded hard covered book, a pair of leather boots- I don’t know, and that’s the best part. The thrill of discovery is the sweetest part of the week.
