Even if I could go back, I wouldn’t.
There have been many good years of my life that I look back on fondly. And there have been many difficult years of my life, that might have turned out differently if I knew then what I know now. Still, I wouldn’t change anything if I could. Because those choices, including the mistakes, are what led me to the life I am currently living. If I were to go back and relive it, could I guarantee that I’ll end up where I am now?
The past is in the past.
It influences us, teaches us, and shapes us- but it shouldn’t control us. The past is like a mirror; it’s a reflection of reality, but not reality itself. As such, it should be treated similarly- looked and appreciated for what it is. However, you should always remain mindful of how easy it is for the view to get distorted with time and emotion.
